Having been appointed on an interim basis to the Town Council, I would like to continue to serve Glen Ridge in the same capacity for a full elected term. During my ten months as a councilman, I have become conversant with the work of the town and its administration and believe I can contribute even more effectively going forward. In addition, as chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, I would like to complete several initiatives involving the athletic fields and town pool.

The professional qualifications I bring to the job include finance and management. I retired from Prudential Securities, Inc., as Senior Vice President of Fixed Income Trading. At Prudential, I served on the Operating Council and managed a staff of 220 traders and support personnel, supervising the firm’s risk trading position. I graduated from Fordham University with a B.S. in Finance and Marketing.

I also bring the spirit of volunteerism which is so important to Glen Ridge. For five years, I served as a Trustee for the Glen Ridge Public Library and was deeply involved with the major renovation of the building. I was a member of the Glen Ridge Music Parents for four years; as Treasurer, I successfully filed for 501-C-3 status. Ten years of volunteering for the Glen Ridge Athletic Association included coaching soccer and standing as commissioner of basketball.

In considering the challenges that face the town council today, the biggest, as always, is maintaining the quality of life we enjoy in our town without adding additional burdens to our taxpayers. In these economic times, the general inflexibility of our financial resources means making tough choices; we must work to get the most from every dollar spent. In addition, due to census redistricting, we need to establish new relationships with our representatives in the state legislature. I have every confidence we can rise to meet these challenges in creative and intelligent ways.
